Our 1120 sq. ft. condominium at the foot of Howe Street was pretty much everything we were looking for.  We have a million dollar view, access to the sea wall, beaches, the West End, Yaletown, downtown, Granville Island, parks and public transportation close at hand. 

We knew when we bought it almost two years ago that we would be making some changes and giving it a new updated look.  The building is 23 years old, a solid structure and previous owners had made some minor changes but some things just had to go! 

When we were looking for a contractor to take down a wall between the kitchen and living room, remove the popcorn ceiling, give us all new flooring, new kitchen cabinets, lighting, more efficient heat registers and in general a good face lift, we did not know where to start.  Several owners in our 24 story building were having renovations done and when talking to a tenant, a reference to Mike Reid and Reid Developments was given to us.  We called Mike, he came over and we gave him our wish list.  Mike returned with a plan, budget and the start date was set.

We moved out, putting everything into storage to give the workers a wide open space to work.  From the start date at the end of October to the third week of December, it was like a finely tuned machine.  The demolition and removal of all the debris was done in a timely fashion, coordinating with the building manager and elevator.

 Mike and the workers he hires are punctual, polite and respectful of our ownership and property; then at the end of each day, they leave a clean and tidy worksite. We were always informed when the sub-trades would be arriving, how long it would take, any power outages and in turn they abided by the Strata bylaws with regards to work hours and noise levels.

If anything was amiss, Mike would take care of it in a timely fashion and he did a fine job of coordinating the trades and workers.  All we had to do was chose our light fixtures, flooring, kitchen finishes and paint colours…he did the rest!

When all was completed in just under two months, the crew cleaned everything up and we moved into a spanking new place…all within the budget!

A job well done…we could not be happier!
